The Train is an Anxious Space is a reflection on the extraordinary and strange space that is the everyday train. The text undergoes a pseudo-analysis of why the mode of transport evokes such uneasy impressions whilst referencing Foucault's elaboration on heterotopias in his essay Of Other Spaces.

At this time I was very intrigued by heterotopias, introduced to me by my tutor after she suggested I should look into them as she observed my painting I did of my end-of-the-world nightmare. I was also getting increasingly obsessed and haunted by the metaphorical train during those months. This was a text reflecting upon the possibility of the train being a heterotopic space.
